Green Building Sessions

Again this year at MREA's (Midwest Renewable Energy Association) 2003 Energy Fair in Custer, Wisconsin, we presented two well-received sessions on interior and exterior "green" building materials to about 150 people, and a third, new session on the Affordable Natural House to about eighty more.

At past MREA fairs we've helped present live demonstrations of natural construction techniques. These techniques are described in more detail in our web sections on the Affordable Natural House, workshops, and natural home building.

Janet with handoutsWe'll also be presenting again at the second IREA fair (Illinois Renewable Energy Association), We'll talk about proven alternative techniques for sustainable home construction for the Midwestern climate, with examples of built homes that are energy-efficient and low-toxin, which use straw-clay, stabilized earthen plaster, adobe floors and other low-impact materials and methods. As always, we'll have physical examples of the materials, and provide handouts on various topics.
