This documentary follows the course of a public art project on Madison's near east side, where residents became curators for a collection of concrete sculptures by artist Sid Boyum. After Boyum's death, his son Steven gave thirteen pieces to the community in the largest single donation of public sculpture in the city's history.
In a process unique to the world of public art, neighborhood residents curated the collection, voted on installation locations, and did most of the work of moving the sculptures.
Madison filmmaker Gretta Wing Miller worked for nearly 20 years as an editor and teacher in New York City.
