The Building Crew of the Affordable Natural House

Bill making formwork

Bill Wyatt is an old friend, a devoted father, singer of German art songs, holder of three degrees (entire past careers, in fact) including molecular biology and psychotherapy. Bill has been working on the house the longest.

Will installs a door threshold

Will Warlick is our lead carpenter. His quiet meticulousness and devotion to his craft have raised the quality of our work.

Anthony sprays clay slip

Anthony Hiller works hard and plays hard - we sometimes lose him for a day or so while he recovers from an Ultimate Frisbee injury. Anthony has previous experience building homes with Habitat for Humanity.

Jeremy lays the air-core bricks

Jeremy Russ recently graduated from architecture school. His construction experience includes work as an electrician's assistant.

Prairie trowels earth plaster

Prairie Sundance is an artist and longtime family friend. His construction experience includes a stint as a crew leader with Operation Fresh Start.

Day at the window

Day Host-Jablonski kicked off the project as a Design Coalition intern after graduting from college in mid-2001. She lived on-site, directed the crew and coordinated materials and subcontractors. Click here for her story...

And a hearty Thank You! to the many volunteers, workshop participants, neighbors and family who have pitched in!
