Do not interrupt placement until entire panels or sections are completed. Place material in one layer, using techniques so as to minimize formboard deflection, impact, spattering supporting structures, and staining underside of formboards.
Immediately after placement, screed and level to required thickness and trowel smooth to an even plane. Provide adequate underside ventilation and heat, if necessary before, during and after placement to insure complete drying of gypsum concrete. Promptly clean spatter from exposed walls and supporting structures before it sets.
Scrape rough areas smooth and patch uneven areas with fresh gypsum concrete slurry after underlayment has set.
3.02 PROTECTION
Protect gypsum concrete floor underlayment from foot or wheeled traffic and do not allow installation of finish flooring materials until the underlayment has thoroughly cured. Provide temporary planking over sections that will receive heavy traffic or concentrated loads.
