Avoid PVC gutters and downspouts; the resin manufacturing for use in PVC fabrication is very polluting. Steel uses much less energy than aluminum,and resists damage.

SECTION 07710 — GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS


PART 1 — GENERAL

1.01 DESCRIPTION

Extent of gutters and downspouts is to be reviewed with Architect prior to installation.

Formed and coated steel gutter and downspout system includes gutter, end caps, miter section, elbows downspouts and other components designed to complete the total system. Non-decorative and non-visible hangers need not be coated.

1.02 STANDARDS

Materials, design, manufacture, testing and packing is to conform with Architectural Steel Manufacturers Association specifications, AAMA 1405.1.


PART 2 — PRODUCTS

2.01 GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS

Gutters and downspouts are to be steel, standard residential grade, K style, with baked enamel finish.

2.02 ACCESSORIES

Provide manufacturer's standard, matching accessories as required for a complete installation, including but not limited to elbows, mounting straps and fasteners, proper length downspout extensions and precast concrete splash blocks where downspout extensions do not reach paved areas.


PART 3 — EXECUTION

3.01 INSTALLATION

Install all items strictly according to manufacturer's recommendations.

After installation is complete, fully test system with flowing water to assure proper runoff. Adjust and retest as required.
