SECTION 08710 — FINISH HARDWARE


PART 1 — GENERAL

1.01 DESCRIPTION

Finish hardware is listed on Door Schedule, referenced to specifications listed below.

1.02 SUBMITTALS

Submit hardware schedule, product data, and shop drawings referenced to the Door Schedule. Upon return of approved submittals arrange a keying meeting with the Owner and hardware supplier to insure all locksets are functionally correct and keying fulfills the project requirements.

1.03 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

Deliver all items of hardware to job site in original factory shipping cartons packaged with all necessary screws, bolts, miscellaneous parts, instructions and installation templates.

2.01 DOOR HARDWARE

Add weatherstripping for exterior doors, unless covered in the door frame section. The Schlage S-Series is a light commercial line that meets ADAAG and ILHR 69 for accessibility.
Locksets by Schlage, S-Series, Saturn handles, with 626 stain chromium plated finish, unless indicated otherwise.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.01 INSTALLATION

Verify that doors and frames are ready to receive work. Install each hardware item industry standard heights and to comply with manufacturer’s instructions, unless indicated otherwise.

3.02 PROTECTION AND CLEANING

After installation, clean metal surfaces on both interior and exterior of all mortar, plaster, paint and other contaminants. After cleaning protect work against damage.

3.03 HARDWARE ADJUSTMENT

Adjust closers to open with 5 lbf. maximum and with a sweep period of 3 seconds minimum from an open position of 70° to a point 3" from the latch, measured at the leading edge of the door.

Return to project on month after owner's occupancy and adjust hardware to proper operation and function. Instruct owner's personnel in proper operation and adjustment.

3.04 KEYS

Provide owner with 3 change keys for each lock plus 5 master keys for each key master system.
