This unique building is used for a type of psychotherapy involving theatrical presentations by small groups of participants. The work can be difficult and intensely emotional. The design incorporates a sheltered, welcoming entry into the space, and a circular stage of very specific design. The quiet rural site also has an large existing log house,
to which therapist and participants retire between sessions.
The studio is set into the hill to meet a stringent local code
for accessory buildings, and the landscaping creates intimate
outdoor places for small gatherings, within the arcs of the heavy
boulder retaining wall and at a patio terrace. |
