Making 'the Best' BetterDesign Coalition worked with the planners of Schrieber-Anderson & Associates on a Business District Master Plan for the historic Schenk's Corners district of Madison's eastside. The area has been called "Madison's best neighborhood retail district", and the master plans seeks to make it even better.
Led by a neighborhood steering committee of residents and business owners, the revitalization will make key changes in the street designs to improve pedestrian access and vehicle wayfinding, increase open 'parkway' space, fill gaps in the streetfronts with new development and creating a small landscaped 'town square'. Design Coalition worked in our own backyard, collaborating on the planning and creating the design guidelines for new and infill development.
